Not sure what to say?

I have known Jay for over 30 years. My son and I met him when my son was taking tap dancing lessons at Jack Gronau Dance Studios. Seeing that my son had a talent in dance that had to be furthered beyond where he was Jay got him to a studio that could advance his skill. Jay worked with him on a steady basis to advance his dance ability which in turn won him many competitions and introduced him to many theater productions. They even danced together in a competition and won overall. My son...

Jay was a kind, talented, and amazing person. He sang with the Berwald Singers for many years and alway performed as a soloist and/or in duets at our many concerts. He will never be forgotten.

I was so sad to hear of Jay's passing. I met Jay many years ago, at Carousel Dinner Theater, in Ohio when I was cast in my first professional musical show. Jay and I quickly became friends and remained so - although we were not in touch for many, many years. When I think of Jay the first thing that comes to mind is the word 'kind'. I'm so sorry for Jay's passing and his memory will always be a blessing to me. Scott Dainton

Jay will always be my best friend. He will be sorely missed.

Although I haven't done such in around ten years, I knew Jay for slightly under three decades through our ushering in all the theaters around Syracuse. I send my sincere condolences to all affected by his passing.

Loved singing with him- his voice was amazing and only surpassed by his huge heart. I'm convinced he could read the phone book and make it sound like the best story ever. So very sorry for your loss Sally. Rest in peace Jay!

I met Jay in 1969 when I was one of the youngest members in the cast of Camelot at Salt City Playhouse. He was a great mentor to me at the time. He will be missed.

While I haven't seen Jay in probably 10 years ... I have known him for close to 30 years through theatre and also at Atonement Lutheran Church. May God grant Jay life eternal, and may perpetual light shine upon him.

I so enjoyed sharing the stage with Jay. He was a wonderful person and an amazing actor. He will surely be missed by many but especially by the theater community. Melissa Kuersteiner
