Not sure what to say?

I just saw the sad news on Dr. Herrmann today as I was looking him up to refer him to my daughter who has had a couple challenging pregnancies in the last couple yrs. ending in unknown miscarriages. And Dr. Herrmann was my genetics Dr. when I was pregnant with this same daughter, keeping me feeling comfortable and confident in my difficult pregnancy with her after experiencing a very painful stillbirth 2 weeks before my delivery date 3 yrs before! Today this same daughter, whom I was blessed...

While looking up the greatest geneticist I stumbled upon this obituary.. Rest in peace kind sir! While I was a pediatric orthopaedic fellow at the University of Wisconsin Dr Herrmann performed my amniocentesis because I am adopted and had no genetic history. He was so kind, knowledgeable, and skilled that after leaving WI we returned for my subsequent three pregnancies! I would not trust anyone else to perform that test and it was over that 8 yr span that I travelled from Virginia and KY to...

Today as we were looking up information on Dr. Herrmann, we learned of his passing. Our first child, Zoey, was born in 1988 in Milwaukee. Dr. Herrmann was sent into our hospital room to explain to us about Down syndrome. With his words and compassion, our life that had changed instantly with a DS diagnosis became brighter and hopeful. His advice to two young parents was to take their child home and love him. He gently answered questions and said, 'I cannot tell you exactly what he will...

I happened to see his obituary today when I was searching for a reference, and felt really sad. I worked in Racine, Kenosha and Milwaukee, WI for 18 years (1986- 2004) and he was very helpful to our practice and was very kind to my patients through out that time period. He was a great physician both in Academics and Private practice and was a great teacher. I always respected him. His teachings will continue to help generations of children thru' thousands of his colleagues and students. RIP...

We were so sad to hear of Dr. Herrmann's passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you. He was such a sweet man. He deeply cared about his patients. I saw him with 3 pregnancies and no matter how bad some things could be, he had a way about him that always put me at ease. I have 3 healthy, grown children and will forever be grateful to him and all he did for us. Fly high and rest peacefully doctor. Thank you for the laughter and care.

My heart was deeply saddened to hear the news of Dr Herrmann's passing. I knew Dr Herrmann for many years and then had the Honor of working with him as a sonographer for several years prior to his retirement. His compassion for his patients and families was outstanding. I learned so much from him and am a better sonographer and person today because of him. Rest in peace Dr and my prayers and thoughts to your loved ones.

We are deeply saddened to hear of Dr. Herrmann's passing. We saw Dr. Herrmann in our second trimester of pregnancy. When our whole world was about to come crashing down around us, through his amazing expertise, Dr. Herrmann was able to give us the most heart-warming news: we were carrying a genetically-sound and healthy baby boy!! His dedication to science and his commitment to helping others has earned him a very special place in the hearts of so many grateful families. May he...

It's difficult to find yourself in genetics while pregnant. He was kind, compassionate, and funny while performing a difficult job. My condolences to the family, may he rest in well deserved peace.

My husband and I saw Dr. Herrmann for the birth of two of our children. I will never forget the compassion of this truly wonderful man. He had a very special way of delivering the most devastating news with such heartfelt compassion. Equally, with the second pregnancy he had a wonderful way of reassuring us that everything would be alright. May this truly wonderful man rest in peace. You will be truly missed. Our deepest sympathy to all of your family.
