Honaker Funeral Home, Inc. - Slidell Obituary

Justin Andrew Ledet, age 33, of Slidell, LA, passed away on Friday, October 29, 2021. Beloved son of Earl J. Ledet and Dianne Heffner Ledet. Grandson of the late Minnie and Byron C. Heffner and Rosa and Earl J. Ledet, Sr.  Brother of Lisa Ledet Sullivan (Brian). Also survived by a niece, Alexis Hanson, a nephew, Dylan Hanson, a step niece, Rachel Sullivan, a step nephew, Jacob Sullivan and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Justin was born in New Orleans and grew up in Covington. He was a 2012 graduate of LSU and earned a degree in Biology. He was an E.R.Tech at Slidell Memorial Hospital (SMH) and had just started Nursing School at Charity School of Nursing, Delgado.  Justin had a passion for fishing and enjoyed going to the shooting range and re-loading his own ammo. He enjoyed the outdoors and recently learned how to snowboard in Wyoming. He enjoyed spending time with his family and enjoyed many family trips to the beach. Justin’s family extended to his co-workers at SMH, as well as his fellow nursing students. Justin’s courage was shown while working in the ER, never afraid to jump in and help save a life. Justin had a special way of how he cared for others. Justin’s form of affection was picking on those he cared for the most. He had a great sense of humor and loved to make people laugh.  He was loved by everyone he met.  Justin continued to save lives even after his death – he was able to be an organ donor.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 400 Westchester Blvd., Slidell, LA., on Friday, November 5, 2021 at 2:00 P.M.  Visitation at the church on Friday after 10:30 A.M. until funeral time.

You always made me laugh when you came to visit. Although I have not seen you since 2006, I have fond memories of you at our home. Wishing you now the peace you deserve in heaven.

We will so miss your smile, witty humor and working with you. There will always be an empty place that is yours at SMH.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

You were such an inspiration for me! We encouraged each other and you always brought joy when I was in pain. I love you dearly dear friend and know you are up there with my dad! You loved our Food Truck when we had it at the hospital! I'll never forget those times. Thank you for leaving me with such great and empowering memories! You have helped me in my walk with Sobriety and I will never forget that. Love for you always

May the love of friends and family carry you through your grief.

My heart is broken. There are no words that would express how wonderful of a person Justin was. I will always remember the day I met him. This young boy who came and knocked on my door introducing himself to me as my neighbor with a checker board tucked under his arm, asking me if I had any children that he could be a friend to. From that day forward he would become a true friend to Trinity and Trey. Justin had such a way of being able to make you smile, no matter what kind of mood you were...

Wow Justin’s I’m in disbelief. Sending love and prayers to you family. I’m going to miss you my fellow coworker.
