Merritt Funeral Home Obituary

Justin “Jut” Michael Sadnick, 46, of La Moille, Illinois, passed away on June 9, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, laughter, and unforgettable memories.

Born on August 7, 1978, in Princeton, Illinois, Justin was the beloved son of Jim and Patti Sadnick. He grew up in a close-knit family and carried those strong bonds into every part of his life.

Justin worked as the Production Superintendent for Allied at the Braidwood Nuclear Station, where he was known for his strong work ethic, leadership, and the friendships he built along the way.

He is survived by his loving wife, Jana Sadnick; his children, Morgan (Kyle) Gascoigne and Chase Sadnick; his bonus daughter and son, Jena and Cole Monroe; his brother, Jason (Tori) Sadnick; and his nieces, Olivia and Aubrey Sadnick, all of La Moille. He is also survived by his mother- and father-in-law, Karina and Dave Prokes of Malden.

Justin enjoyed spending his time fishing, hunting, traveling, and hanging out with friends. He was fun-loving, easygoing, and always ready with a laugh that could brighten anyone’s day. He had a big heart and would do anything for the people he cared about.

He was preceded in death by his sister, grandparents, and numerous aunts and uncles.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 17, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Community United Methodist Church in La Moille. A funeral service will take place at the church at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 18.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His warmth, generosity, and that unforgettable giggle will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.  Memorials in his memory can be made to the La Moille Fire Department.  Please visit www.horner-merritt.com for online guest book and video tribute.
