Not sure what to say?

Remembering him with love, missing him, his wealth of knowledge, great stories, and powerful presence. Rest In Peace, RIP.

I remember Captain Van kleek in my time as an member of the N.J.R.O.T.C at Moody High School very kind and caring person, I wish I would have caught up to him one last time, R.I.P Captain you were a great hero to me.

I will miss u cpt. VanKleeck

Van Kleeck family, I want to thank you for sharing this wonderful, awesome and humble man. He not only gave his time and knowledge to us high school kids from the westside, he gave us love, pride and respect and taught us to love and respect ourselves. This man was my NJROTC teacher, mentor, & friend, he treated all his students like his own kids. We as students always felt comfortable, going to him with our problems, both personal & school issues. I loved this man like a father, as all his students did. Both he and his wife were always active in the student life's. What a sad day for me!!

I was one of his many students, he was a big part of my life and the reason I join the Navy, 24 years later I retired a chief. Stopped by in 1986 after my first deployment to give a hat that only he could wear from the USS John F. Kennedy with scramble eggs. He was the man who handed me my high school diploma class of '83'. I shall never forget these great man. God bless you Captain, "Fair Winds and Following Seas".

Recalling over 65 years of steadfast friendship and great memories. Fair winds and following seas, Rip.

Though I didn't have the privilege of personally knowing him, a few of my siblings were under his watch in the ROTC program at Moody High School, now retired military.

He was highly respected in our school and I'm honored to have heard so much about him. My condolences to his family, but my siblings and I will celebrate his life with you knowing he's with the Savior. Blessings to you and yours.
