Dennis & D'Arcy Abriola & Kelemen Funeral Homes - Stratford Obituary

  Dear family and friends,

March 8.  This afternoon at about 3:20 Justine left us. When last she was able to tell us coherently how she was feeling and what she wished for, she said over and over “I hate this!”  She was in torment. Not physical pain, no; the pain of knowing that she...

Every name’s a touchstone
That leads to a place and time,
Where God has used another’s heart
To reach out and touch mine.

It may have happened years ago
Or even yesterday,
But every person on my list
Has changed my life some way.

Through simple conversation,
A warm hug or a shared meal,
Every person on my list
has helped me grow or heal,

Or laugh or love or learn or smile . . .
The blessings never end

The most wonderful art teacher. When I designed a house with a pool on the sixth floor, she asked why a pool in the sixth floor and I told her it was to be closer to the sun. She smiled and I never forgot that smile of encouragement. The world is a better place because of Ms Aspinwall.

Justine was my art teacher at Ridgefield High School, probably around 1972. I would like her family to know that she was a wonderful, caring and passionate teacher who had profound in impact on me. Time in her class was a peaceful retreat from the the crazy world outside the classroom. I am so very sorry to hear this sad news. Condolences to you and prayers too. CP

Justine was a lovely and caring woman and a talented artist. She always had a kind word for everyone and she will be missed by many people. Our condolences to
Les and her family.

Justine surely does live in everyone she has touched. What a beautiful woman she was to love so naturally, care so deeply, and give so generously. I am so lucky to have known her through her relationship with my parents. I have known her since the age of three, and have been learning from her life ever since. She has taught me how to live and also how to exit life with dignity and grace. I can clearly hear her laugh and see her smile. I hope that never fades away. I am thankful for the many...

Mrs. Aspinwall holds a special place in my heart. She had a calm, firm demeanor and allowed her students to explore. She encouraged and challenged me; I will always remember her.

There are a few teachers that stand out in my mind as a graduate of Ridgefield High school and Ms. Aspinwall is one of them. She encouraged me to be the artist I am today. She taught me not only the skills of wheel throwing, hand building and glaze making for pottery, she helped me to see my potential as an artist. When I was discouraged, she encouraged. When I had an idea in my mind, she always saw that I brought it to fruition. She had a definite impact in my life. I am grateful for her...
