Not sure what to say?

I was Mr. Stokers Insurance Adjuster on a hail claim at his ranch a few years ago. He was so interesting to visit with, I was there for half of the day. He showed me pictures, ropes and his Rose Bowl Parade saddle. We talked about Bus Stop and Marilyn Monroe. He was proud of the Cowgirl Chicks and his work with them. Before I inspected his horse barn, he took me inside to meet his horses. The horses did tricks for me and were just beautiful. I have traveled all over the country working claims...

I’m sorry to hear of his passing. When he was living in Overland Park I lived next to Peterson Stables in Lenexa and have ridden on the back of Pumpkin many times with JW. I remember he didn’t like being called Mr. Stoker. He taught me a lot about riding. He will be missed. So many memories with him. Rest In Peace.

Rest in peace cousin, may your boots walk on streets of gold. Cliff SToker

I first met JW in Bonifay, Fl at the Kiwanis Club Rodeo, I was 8 years old, some years later I was employed by Matt Dryden and the Circle D Rodeo Co. JW entertained at many of our Rodeos and we shared a lasting friendship and many, many memories, I will miss our phone calls, and Rodeo talks!!! JW Stoker is a FRIEND that I will truly miss!! Rest in Peace my Friend!!!

Sorry to hear of your loss. JW was a good friend of my younger brother Scott.

My friend sorry to hear he has passed

The Stoker family have been long time friends of mine, the Veach Family of Veach Saddlery in Trenton MO. JW , a true showmanship in his trick riding and roping, and became a legend in his arts to so many. Our phone conversations were always full of "days gone by" memories.
God's Blessing's, JW.

Such a huge part of my great memories in the rodeo world growing up. My dad, James Jennings, introduced him into the arena many times. Prayers for the family

I met J.W. after seeing him on local t.v. advertising a rodeo in (1962) Waterville, KS..Dad & I went to see his performance and I was 13. He roped and rode Pumpkin at the time. He offered to teach me more roping when passing through our town (Seward, NE) as he lived in Overland Park, KS at the time. Following the Burwell, NE Rodeo he gave lessons there and in Ogallala, NE. He visited our family and we put up his horses where I kept mine.
He was an inspiration and such a "showy"...
