i just spoke with my mom today, she said she thought one of my teachers had passed with the obit, in July paper. so i looked it up... i was like wow Tip Schanz died, well... he did not really die, as memories of a gr8 teacher after 40 + years ago, still live on. May his family know that ol' Tip was awesome, as David Catalfamo previously made note of here. I guess Tip will be chipping one out for us all, in the sky. Thank you Mr. Schanz.

Mr. Schanz was a wonderful history teacher - made you think. Didn´t talk down to his students, challenged them to connect history to current events. An amazing legacy. Deepest condolences to his family.
