Kaelyn A. McGregor

I met Kaelyn at Brown University to exchange information about supportive resources for people with cancer. Though I didn't know her well, her warmth, humor and intelligence were powerful. She was a pleasure to be with.

She served as a panelist for a medical school elective about cancer that I facilitate at Brown, and brought an unflinching, good-humored honesty to helping the students understand what it meant to live with her illness.

It was a pure joy getting to know Kaelyn the last few years. I only wish it was under different circumstances that our paths crossed at Brown. Although Kaelyn was always supportive of others at Brown facing a cancer diagnosis, she did not allow cancer to define her as a person. She often spoke of her love of entertaining and gardening, as well as travel and her time spent in London. I am a better person for having known her and miss her dearly.

Kaelyn was a joy to work with, and her courage in the most difficult of circumstances was inspirational. She will be missed and remembered - always. My deepest sympathies are with you at this sad time.

I am so sorry for your loss. Kaelyn lived a wonderful, full life in a very short time. Surely, you will have many beautiful memories to carry you through the time to follow. I did not know have the pleasure of knowing her well, but my son Jon spoke of her often and with highest regard.
