I had the distinct pleasure of working with Kai for many years. He was an extraordinary engineer, had an exceptional work effort, a great sense of humor, and above all, he was a real gentleman. He will be missed greatly.

Through my decades of work, it is the friends I made at SUPSHIP in the 90's whose memories I most treasure. Friends like Kai, who was the most generous and hard-working person I had ever met. On countless sea trials and business trips, Kai and a small group of our fellows (and ladies) would spend all of our time together. I worked with Kai for 20+ years with SUPSHIPs, and while he was definately a great engineer with good common sense, he was more a great person that almost never got upset and brought a smile to everyone he came in contact with. He was a great friend and will be greatly missed. CHuck Batten
