Not sure what to say?

Today's memorial service was a beautifu, moving tribute to an amazing lady.

Dr. Rao was my physician for 16 years. She was a delight from the moment she appeared in my hospital room while 'on call' that weekend. Not only was she patient - always listening, never rushing, but also always looking for new treatment options. She repeatedly fought for me to have insurance cover physical therapy.

We swapped stories about our children and my husband's world travels over the years. ...

We laughed together. We cried together. We talked about the joy of being mothers and wives. It was an honor and great privilege to know Dr. Kalpana Rao for the last 15 years, as not only a physician, but as a friend. I will miss her greatly. She was truly one of a kind. My deepest sympathy to her husband and children.

My thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. May your memories bring you comfort.

Kalpana was the neurologist for my sons Stephen and Justin as well as for me. She became Stephen's doctor in 1993 after his first seizure and was immeasurable help to him and our family. She aided Justin and me with our migraines. I recommended her to several friends who also received relief with their migraines. She became a friend as well as a physician. Ram, Sid, and Mallika, we are sorry for your loss and will hold you and Kalpana in our thoughts and prayers. Carolyn, Stephen,...

There are few people that entered our lives and we are changed forever. I am a more rounded, better person for having known Dr. Rao. She will continue to live on in my thoughts and daily activities.
