Not sure what to say?

While depositing a check at a local bank, i endorsed it and noticed someone left behind their own check... for quite a significant amount of money. It was made out to Kanik so i searched online for his number and left a message. Figuring he'd likely want this check ASAP, my wife, newborn daughter and I decided to walk to down the DUMBO address i also found online. It was there I found Kanik, who was so thrilled I found and brought him the check, he generously gave me some beautiful pieces...

Lamp by Eva Zeisel, handblown by Kanik Chung

I met Kanik while working for Eva Zeisel. He handblew her lamp designs that I had transcribed into drawings, and she loved the results. Eva really loved working with Kanik, as he understood her beautiful design language. I have one of these pieces in my home, a wedding gift from Eva, and I often think of Kanik's cheerful and precise method of working with us on this. I am so sorry to hear that he has passed, it was too soon. Kanik's love of life lives on in his work and in this light.

I remember Kanik from high school. His gentile spirit and radiant smile will always be remembered. He followed his dreams and was incredibly talented. An inspiration! I have always had a love of glass, but will never look at a piece in the same way. More respect. To Ling and his loved ones, I am so sorry for your loss. He lives on in all of our memories! A bright star in the beautiful night sky.

For the family: I am sorry for your loss. May you find comfort in each other at this time, and loyal friends, who help you feel secure and loved - Proverbs 17:17
