Dr. Karel R. Slatmyer Jr.

I worked with Dr. Slatmyer @ Bronson Hospital when I began working there as an RN in the OR in 1975. Dr. slatmyer was always calm & intelligent, yet humble. Whenever eliciting what was the best decision when an emergency case was added, he would say, "whatever is best"! I loved working with him.

I will always remember Dr. Slatmyer for his kind voice and his comforting words. I met Karel several years ago. We were re-united a little over 2 years ago at LakeView Pharmacy in Mattawan. I have never forgotten his rich tone of voice and will always remember him as a man who always amazed me, as did I, amaze him. Just by hearing each other's voice our memories came to light. This became especially important to me when I knew that his time was so very near and his voice was all I will have...

I KNEW KAREL FROM 1954 WHEN THE FAMILY SHOPPED AT HARDINGS MARKET AT THE TOP OF WEST MAIN HILL TO THE MOST RECENT AT PAWPAW SHOPPING CENTER IN PAW PAW MI I HAD SOME REALLY NICE MEMORIES WE TALKED ABOUT ALOT OF THINGS BUT ONE THING WAS GREATER THAN ALL OTHERS,THAT IS CHRIST OUR LORD AND SAVIOR, MAY GOD BLESS ALL IN THE FAMILY,AND KNOW THAT KAREL IS WITH OUR LORD TODAY. Karel will be greatly missed here by those who knew him. He was a godly example for all to see and follow.

Dr.Karel Slatmyer: He was such a Godly example to so many at Calvary Church. Karel would often pray during the service for God's blessing on the pastor's message and for blessings on the pastor to speak the message God would have for him to give to us. He was a loving man who always blessed us more then any words we could give to him. May God bless you the family in these coming days of lonliness and loss of a wonderful father, grandfather, and great, great grandfather.

My family lived across the street from Karel & Carolyn for many years. They became treasured members of our family. I will always remember them both. Love and condolences to Karel,Jr. & family.
