To the family and friends of Karen, I remember her well from high school. She was very well liked and seemed like a natural leader. She was pretty too. I remember her as a very positive and upbeat person with a zeal for life. May God’s comfort be upon all in this grieving time.

One of my favorite friends since grade school. Always upbeat, will always remember her with a smile on her face. Hit me in the gut when I read the news. Hang in there Whalens. Patrick Ferentz, Virginia Beach.

Kathy, Lefty, Kenny and Mary,
Our prayers are with you all. The friendship that we had with Karen will forever be in our hearts. I was blessed to be a part of her life for over 40 year. Her spirit, drive and sense of humor brings a smile to my face each time I think of her. We miss her so very much. With our deepest love and sympathy Deb and Zmud

My sorrows and Sympathies go out to Karen's family. I will always remember Karen as being just a classy person towards eveyone in band and school!! Even if she didn't know your name in band, she still smiled and said, "Hi."

My heart goes out to you at this time and in the days ahead. Karen will always be remembered as a smart, talented and beautiful woman who always had a smile for everyone.

Dear Whalen Family, We are so sorry to hear about the loss of Karen. She was a very special person and we know how much she will be missed. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. Love, Dave, Charlene, and Sarah Durski
