A long time resident of Petaluma and a member of the United Methodist Church of Petaluma, Karen passed away quietly on July 3, 2006 after fighting a sixteen year battle with multiple sclerosis. Karen, daughter of the late Joseph Bernard Prigmore, is survived by her mother Gertrude Scheppelmann of Glen Ellen; daughter Briana and ex-husband Jon, both of Petaluma; brother Joseph and sister-in-law Karla Kelly of Danville; niece Talia Prigmore of Novato; and several cousins, aunts and uncles. Karen attended high school in Millbrae and went on to obtain her Associates of Arts Degree from the College of San Mateo in 1972. Interests and talents varied for Karen and throughout her life she held positions in administration, education, and as an esthetician. Her employers included the City of Millbrae Recreation Department, the Palo Alto Unified School District, Sonoma State University, W.K. McLellon Co., Wilson Appraisal Services, the Petaluma Valley Day School and the Old Adobe Union School District. Tahoe was home for Karen from 1975 1978 where she worked for the Tahoe City Public Utility District. For the last four years Karen has been cared for by the staff at Pleasant Care Health and Rehabilitation facility in Petaluma and the family wishes to thank them for their kindness and assistance. Karen's desire was to have her body donated to the School of Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco. In keeping with Karen's wish for continued research to find a cure for MS, in lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Northern Chapter of Multiple Sclerosis Society at 150 Grand Avenue, Oakland, CA 94612.
