I first met Karen in 1984 on a train ride to Washington to celebrate the dedication of the statue at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial; "The Wall" Thus began a friendship of decades. Karen's patriotism was well known as she supported various veterans activities and was a stalwart member of the League of Families of POWs and MIAs.
