Karen Ann Joseph CHARLESTON - Karen Ann Joseph, 48, mother, daughter, sister entered into eternal life Saturday morning following complications from surgery. She is survived by her beloved daughter, Megan, her parents Dr. and Mrs. Carium Joseph; her sister, Kathy Macaron, her husband Elie and their daughter, Elise; her brother, Kevin and his daughter, Jennifer; her sister, Dr. Molly Joseph, her husband Scott Pressler and their children Hannah and Luke; her sister, Amy Collins, her husband Bryan and their children, Chase, Caroline and Courtney and her sister, Jenny Fraser and her husband Keith. Karen was a native of Charleston, graduating from Bishop England High School and The College of Charleston with a B.A. in English. She received her Masters in Library Science from The University of South Carolina and enjoyed many years of public service in the Charleston County Library system. Karen went on to establish her own business, Blissful Living, as a professional organizer she was able to cultivate her good nature and organizational skills in the care of others. Karen was quick witted and loved to laugh. She was a prolific reader and a gifted writer. To those who knew and loved her, she danced to her own drummer, sang to her own tune and was truly one of a kind. She will be deeply missed by her daughter and her family, who will always remember the lesson she taught us that love is truly the "soul" purpose. The relatives and friends of Karen Ann Joseph are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM Tuesday, October 27, 2009, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. The Rite of Committal will be at Holy Cross Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Blessed Sacrament Building Fund 5 St. Teresa Dr. Charleston, SC 20407 or to a charity of your choice. Not sure what to say?

Dear Family and Friends of Karen Joseph,
As a condo neighbor, I often saw Karen and found her to be, always, wonderful and cheerful. My greatest sympathy and condolences to you who were most close to Karen.

I just found out about your families loss. I am so sorry.
My prayers are with you during this difficult time.

Dr. and Mrs. Joseph, Kathy, Kevin and Molly:
I am very sorry to hear about Karen. I know as an adult she made you very proud parents because of all of her achievements and by the way she touched so many people in her lifetime.
Me and my family had many great times back in the day living in Westwood Neighborhood.
I know her daughter and husband will be able to get through this with the help of her extended family.

God Bless,

Barbara Judge...

Dear Joseph Family,

I was fortunate enough to go to school with Karen at both Blessed Sacrament and BE. She was such a beautiful, kind, fun person. May God help all of you as you struggle with her loss.

We will keep her memory forever in our hearts. Love, JoAnne Bolchoz Farris and Kellie Russell Daniel(BE Class of '78)

Dear Carium, Peggy and family,

I am saddened to hear of the loss of Karen. As with all of your children, she was a delight. May the memories of her life bring you comfort now and always. My deepest sympathies. Esther Lapin (Mt. Pleasant)

To the Joseph family, I am so sorry to hear about Karen. My thoughts and prayers are with the whole family. Karen was one of my great BE friends.
Jo Nell (Florence, SC)

Kathy,
I am so sorry to hear about Karen. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. May God bless you and comfort you during this difficult time.

To Dr. and Mrs. Joseph,

You all were in my thoughts all throughout the day today...I wish I could have been there. Although Karen and I had lost touch over the years, I thought about her often, especially all of our fun times at BE. May her memory be eternal
