Karen Jeanine Kruse

Dear Marilyn and Family,
I was very sorry to read about Karen's death in the Silverton Mt. Angel paper. You are all in my prayers.

We are sad to learn of Karen's death. We were among Karen's many classmates and friends at Mt. Angel College, and we regarded her as a special light in the world.

God bless and keep all who were close to her as we take comfort in the beauty of her life.

I remember Karen quite fondly. I grew up with her and her sisters in Mt. Angel. I even got to baby sit them once When aunt Marilyn and Uncle Sonny were involved in an accident and Marilyn broke both ankles. I was visiting them at the time so I stayed an extra day while Marilyn was in the hospital. Love to all, I will miss her.

Dear Cousins, I am so shocked to hear of Karen's death. I just had a wonderful visit with you in May. We must get together more often to laugh and talk. Remember, Mount Angel is still home to us all.

I was so shocked by the news of Karen's death. She was a grand person and so much fun. Please know that my prayers and thoughts are with you.

I remember Karen with great fondness, a young artist, painter, a very special person. I got to know the Mt Angel folk who migrated to Portland when the college closed, and 1966 was the beginning of an amazing period. Karen's smile is the same - fun and free spirited. She is loved and missed.

In the mid 1960s, a wonderful group of folks in the Mount Angel area developed into a community of hippies centered around the college. The Manyon brothers, Skip Adams, Carol Turner, Karen, Jon Masterson, Lee Kelly and others. Some of us from Portland were absorbed into this exciting group. All of our lives inspired, confused and transformed each other. It was a luminous time. To me, Karen was the bright shining epitome, the spirit, of that time. She was important to me because she was kind...

Dear Marilyn,
