Not sure what to say?

Not having received the usual Christmas letter from Karen this year, I wondered if she was sick or possibly passed. I just found her obituary and wish to express my condolences to sister, Jeanne and her family as well as others whose lived Karen touched. We were college mates and good friends.. I spent quite a few days at her and Richard's cabin home in the woods along the Swatty.. We caught spring peepers for a project I had in biology class and took hikes in the woods, talked till wee...

Jeanne & Gerry--
I wish I had gotten to meet Karen in person. She truly seemed like someone who radiated all light possible through her caring spirit, dedication to education, and commitment to service. My thoughts and prayers are with you as you honor her memory and the many ways she touched people's lives.

My condolences to the family. (I am the daughter of Arlene Miller Moore.) Karen was a wonderful person and a terrific educator. She was instrumental in the start of my teaching career and for that I will be forever grateful. My prayer for the family is that you will be covered with the peace and comfort that only God can provide.

Karen delighted in children. She delighted in family and friends. She shared her love of nature, art, and travel. In so many individual ways those who knew Karen were supported, encouraged, and celebrated by her generous spirit. Her life has been a gift, and we remember Karen with love.

Karen was a wonderful friend always kind and compassionate especially during difficult times. She was a terrific Godmother to Nichole. Karen was always ready to listen and she will be greatly missed by anyone who knew her. My sincere sympathy goes out to her family through this time of sorrow.

Whenever I would see Karen at our Delta Kappa Gamma state activities, I always felt like I was back home in Lebanon.
She was a special mentor, friend, and DKG Sister.
I will miss her presence!

Gentle thoughts of comfort to her family.

Karen was a generous and caring soul. She was always quietly supportive and thoughtful. I am glad to call her friend and P.E.O. sister. She taught us all what it means to be reliable, compassionate and collegial. I will miss her. My condolences to Jeanne, Gerry and the rest of her family.

As a young teacher I received helpful support and beneficial guidance from our principal, Karen Light. In addition to being an excellent leader in education she was a good manager, and a likeable woman. She was also a thoughtful and caring person, and would often inquire about my family.
Two months ago she sent a newspaper clipping to me she saved about my daughter receiving a citizenship award while she was a student at South Lebanon.
The professional relationship I had with...

I will always remember Mrs. Light as my principal at South Lebanon. She was such a nice lady with a kind heart who put children and Reading first. Kept in contact with her after I got older and started teaching 3rd Grade myself. Mrs. Light visited my classroom along with Mrs. Caskie and brought in a CD called "Bubble Gum" that I remember singing in school so many years ago. Really enjoyed our phone conversations in recent years. Sad to hear this. She will be missed. Sending all my thoughts...
