Taken from us so suddenly, our beautiful daughter Karen died peacefully at the Montreal General Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Cherished daughter of Carlo and Joan (Giovanna Mancini), dear sister of Brenda, adored aunt of Lauren and Mara (their Dad John). Karen will also be sadly missed by her Grandmother Rose Mancini, (she was loved by her late Grandfather George Mancini), her many aunts, uncles, cousins and her faithful canine companion Misty. Viewing will be held at the Mount Royal Funeral Complex, 1297 Chemin de la Forêt, Outremont H2V 2P9, (514) 279-6540 www.mountroyalcem.com on Friday, December 21st from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Service will take place in the Funeral Complex Chapel, Saturday, December 22nd at 10:00 a.m. Our heartfelt thanks go to the valiant efforts of the First Responders who broke down the door to help her. We especially thank the Police Officer Marco Dias who stayed with Karen's beloved dog Misty so that Brenda could go to the hospital to be with her sister. We greatly appreciate the compassionate, outstanding care given by staff of the Trauma and Intensive Care Units of the MGH – so many went above and beyond the call of duty. Those we love don´t go away, they walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard but always near, so loved, so missed and held so dear. Always in our thoughts Karen.

Dear Karen - every year I say the same thing - firstly, how is it that your beautiful physical being is no longer with us and, secondly, how can it be 12 years already.
