Not sure what to say?

Several months ago I had been contacted by an old high school friend and we met for a dinner some 39 years after our last time together. We reminisced about growing up in Beloit and wondered what had happened to the people we had known during those years. Karen's name came up during the discussion and I decided to try and contact her sometime this year. Using social media I was able to find her Facebook account and noticed that her last entry was in March of 2014. Recently I returned to...

I just learned about the passing of my most dear grade school, junior high school, and high school friend. My sincerest condolences to her husband and two sons. I looked at her picture and it only took seconds to see Karen's smile once again and remember her as my best girlfriend growing up. Soooo many memories here. We lived just a block or so away. I lived on Vernon Ave and Karen lived on Highland Ave. We shared all of the goofy things that young girls did. We gossiped about others and...

I couldn't think of much of anything without also thinking of Karen and her smile and bright but subtle sense of humor.. . so very much missed.

I will miss her so deeply. I am so thankful for all the time we had to share with her. I am thankful that all the 'Mojito Sisters' didn't miss the chance to tell her how much we loved her and valued the time we had left together. She was loving and brilliant -- intellectually and musically -- and so generous toward and supportive of others. She loved trying to get me to eat licorice on an empty stomach, begged for the "Princess Playlist", shrugged off my constant advice that she slack off...

My deepest condolences to all Karen's family! I shall never forget all her help for the 25 years I knew her at the library, nor shall I forget her warmth and her wonderful laugh.

My sympathy to Bill, Robert and Michael. I remember and relish the time you were at St. John's.

I just learned of Karen's passing this morning. I am very sorry to have missed saying goodbye. I worked with Karen at APL years ago, and will remember her laugh and her kindness forever.

I have just now learned of Karen's passing. To Bill - and all the family: I am so sorry that the light that she was is gone from this world. She was a great friend, during our shared time at APL, and after. You are all in my prayers. She is with Sukie now - eating popcorn & discussing the "Interlibrary Loan change of the week"!

Karen was a very exceptional lady. I loved working with her and will miss her deeply. She gave her ultimate expertise at work and I am sure at home for her family too. It is a very sad time and so sorry for your loss. I extend my sympathies to Bill and her sons Robert & Michael.
