I was shocked to hear of Karen´s passing and offer heartfelt condolences to her family. I attended HS with Karen, but knew her better as a classmate at MSU. Later, I became colleagues with her. Karen lit up a room. She was confident, classy, smart, and kind. She was a strong advocate for her students and justice in doing what was right. I hadn't known Karen long she was a soft spoken sweet woman who I had gotten the pleasure to help she was always so sad so I took Nova a cat of mine to meet her and she fell in love instantly so I let her stay to keep Karen company and brighten her days. I will never forget her. My heart is broken and I think of her everyday. I'm just thankful for the time I had to make things easier for her rip to you both and with all my love until we meet again. Our condolences to the Ludwig and Putman families. Karen was a great friend to Mary and I. We may have lost touch but the bond remained strong. We will miss knowing you are in this world. May your memory be eternal.

We are heartbroken at the passing of Karen. We knew Karen when we were fellow educators at Northwest Schools. Karen was a remarkable teacher. She was a kind and caring person who loved being in the classroom with her students. Karen was always a positive force in helping her students succeed academically, and with life skills. I saw this and was saddened.. she was my teacher from 9th til 12th . She was one of my best teachers . So sorry to hear this news . May you RIP Mrs Putman
