I am so very sorry to hear of Karen's passing. I, like many others, knew her/met her due to a mutual love of U2.
I was privileged to carpool with her to a show in Baltimore a few years ago.
My sincerest condolences to her family & friends. Karen/Ruby will be deeply missed & kept forever in our hearts.

My sadness at her passing is tempered with relief in knowing she is finally free of pain. She was a force of nature, loved life, and let nothing get in her way. I think now of so many memories and laughs we shared along the U2 journey and as friends. Sending comfort and condolences to her mom and family. She will not be forgotten by those who had the privilege to know her. A rare, and popular coda sometimes added by Bono to the song With or Without You is, "We'll shine like stars in the...

Condolences on your loss, Mrs. Ruppert. Karen and I worked together for many years, both at Waverly Press and at Wolters Kluwer. We were often "smoking buddies" and spent many a happy hour sitting on benches in the sun, just chatting. I will miss her wit and her fierce passions. God rest her dear soul.

Ruby was a legend in the U2 community, many of whom are friends because of her. We all know how hard the last few years. How lucky we were to have known her. Blessings and sympathies to all who were part of her life. " I know that this is not goodbye." Kite U2 . Karl

There's so much I could say about Karen (or Ruby, as she is better known to many of her friends). She was brilliant, bitingly funny, never shy with an opinion, and such a good friend through the years. I'll never forget the sound of her voice and all the laughter. I love her and will miss her. The world is a little less bright without her. Godspeed, Ruby. Sending prayers of peace and comfort to your family.
