Karen L. Schroeder

1942 – 2023

Feeding Hills – Karen L. (Johnson) Schroeder, 81, died peacefully Monday morning, March 13, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. Karen was born in Hudson, NY, the daughter of the late Harold and Dolores (Heidel) Johnson. She grew up in Enfield, NH, West Roxbury, and Pittsfield, graduating from Pittsfield High School. She has lived in Feeding Hills for the past 45 years and has worked as the Office Administrator for Dr. Richard Leaderman, DDS for many of those years. She was the most loving and caring wife, mother, Mimi, sister, aunt, and friend. There was nothing Karen loved more than spending time with family and friends, and she never met a stranger. Always the life of the party, she could light up a room with her smile, quick wit and infectious laughter. She leaves behind the love of her life, her husband of 56 years, Jack Schroeder; three children Scott Schroeder, Amy Mulrenan and Beth Schroeder; her siblings Allen and Katherine Holt, David and Donna Johnson, Elaine Troy and Medora and Donald MacMeekin. Karen also leaves six grandchildren Jake, Shaye and Bree Mulrenan, Rhein, Cole and Lake Ingham, and many nieces and nephews. Sadly, Karen was predeceased by her sister Virginia Holt; brother-in-law Jim Troy; and, recently, her son-in-law Michael Mulrenan. Visiting hours will be held at Agawam Curran-Jones Funeral Home from 10am-12pm on Saturday, March 25, 2023. For online condolences please visit curranjones.com. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association Massachusetts Chapter 311 Arsenal Street, Watertown, MA 02472.
