Sr. Karen was the first person I met when I transferred to the University of Detroit Mercy in the fall of 1997. She helped prepare me for life at the university, and I am forever grateful. My sympathy to Sister and her family.

I was a student at Ladywood '65. Sr. Karen was my math teacher. She encouraged me to attend college and I made my career as a math teacher. Most important, Sr. Karen was my friend. We named our daughter after her and she is our son's Godmother. We Braswell's all love her dearly. We will miss our friend, Sr. Karen.
