Ann, remember me, I lived across the courtyard in the Greenleaf apartments, my name is Sandy Dolan, we were both pregnant at the same time and we would wave at each other through the window every morning to see if the other delivered. I live in Texas now, became a nurse and with great sadness that I read about Karen. I´m glad you and Bernie are well and I wish you peace. Karen was a kind person because of the way you raised her.

I am deeply saddened to learn of karen"s passing. Throughout treatment, she showed remarkable grace, strength, and dignity that touched everyone involved in her care. It was an honor to walk alongside Karen during such a difficult journey, and the courage she demonstrated will not be forgotten. Sending much love to her dedicated family!

As one of the cofounders of the Unity Games, I had the privilege of spending some time with Karen. As said, her smile was contagious, and her compassion for causes such as ours was obvious. There was no reason for us to ask Karen to help in our fundraising, as that was part of her being The Unity Games board, and the 3500 children that have graduated from the program are all indebted. Peace to you, Karen, and we will not forget your smile.
