Karen Vancil

Rest in peace!

Karen was my friend, coworker, supervisor, and mentor. I learned so much from her, not only about insurance, but about compassion for others, raising children, and cooking! She lifted me up when I was low and empowered me to be better. I missed her when she left the Department, and I tried to fill her shoes. I still miss her. My sympathies to the family. You meant everything to her.

To the Vancil children, I worked with your Mom at the Department of Insurance for probably 30 years in the Consumer Complaint Division and I think I was her manager for at least 3 of the children's births. Your Mom was the greatest person. She always wore a smile and even on our most challenging days we had fun. My sincere sympathy on her passing. Dale Emerson

Saddened, just been made aware of her passing. I am fortunate to have so many good memories of her from our younger days! My thoughts and prayers are with her family now, which I know meant the world to her.

Sorry for the loss of Karen,her and Bill had a lot of good times together. She will be missed by many. Prayers for the familes.

I had many great and fun times with Karen and Bill to remember for sure! All the times at Shelbyville, at WHS football, baseball and basketball and certainly at each other's home. My condolences to all you kids. My thoughts are with you all.
