Karin Vetter Mott

Colter, this encomium is so beautifully heartfelt, overflowing with poignantly delightful descriptions that it sets a new high bar for obituaries. I feel I now know deeply someone I never met, and aspire to be more like her.

I am so sorry to read of Karin´s death, while knowing that she´s where she wants to be, back with Charley. Our paths often crossed at WCBR when my parents were there, and it was always a delight to spend time with her. She had a light of love and joy in her that very little dimmed, even at the hard times. I have always felt lucky to have spent the little time I did with her. It´s a big loss for all of her family, and I am sorry that her time with you has had to end.

When UVA allowed women to matriculate and sororities to operate, alumnae from other schools gathered to provide support for the new members. Karin and I were among the original house corporation women of Delta Delta Delta. I was impressed by her delightful presence and warmth.
