Karl Alonzo Baker,Jr., a.k.a. "Mr. B," age 68, passed away at his home on Tuesday, February 3, 2015. Born June 14, 1946 in Mobile, Alabama, he was a 1964 Graduate of Central High School.Mr. B. proudly served his country in the Marine Corps, had a distinguished career as a sharpshooter during the Vietnam War, owned and operated a chain of successful check-cashing businesses, and spent his final years enjoying family – most notably, his two grandkids – and friends. Survivors include his mother, Gloria Jones Phillips of Pensacola, Florida; wife, Antonia H. Baker, and sons, Karl Alonzo Baker, III and Kenneth Nixon of Mobile, Al; his daughters, Kimberly V. Baker and Kyra A. Baker of Alpharetta, Georgia; his granddaughter, Kasey G. Baker of Alpharetta, Georgia; his grandson, Karl Alonzo Baker, IV of Mobile, Alabama; brother Jeffrey(Patsy) O'Hara Baker of Stone Mountain, Georgia; sisters Daviette(Errol) Ramos of Mobile, Alabama, Deidre(Ernest) Phillips-Ford of New Orleans, Louisiana, Karla Baker of Mobile, Alabama, and Cynthia Bouknight of Winter Haven, Florida; a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews; and dogs, Milo and Chupa. Karl was preceded in death by his father, Karl Alonzo Baker, Sr. of Mobile, Alabama and a brother Kenneth A. Baker

A memorial service will be held Sunday, February 8, 2015 at Christian Benevolent Funeral Home, 201 North Hamilton Street, Mobile, AL 36603.
