I am a retired University President and none of my career would have happened without Dr. Karl Hakmiller. I was an undergraduate student of his and worked as a research assistant on one of his projects. Dr. Hakmiller convinced me to go to graduate school and served as the reference that made it possible. I am deeply saddened by news of Karl Hakmiller's passing. He was my boss at the UConn Graduate School for some ten years from mid-1970's to 1986. Karl was one of the most intellectually gifted persons I was fortunate enough to work with. Though he was a distinguished Professor of Psychology, he had interests in many other areas as well.
