Not sure what to say?

We have outstanding memories of Dr. Hess. Our daughters, Beryl and Daryn Brown were his patients and he was so wonderful when we went to Kaiser to see him. Hattie was also incredibly helpful. Dr. Hess was the doc my adult daughters remember with great affection, as do Eric and I.

Karl was our pediatrician for many years, and we so appreciated his warmth, humor and common sense. He was a calming presence as our three young people navigated their way through childhood and adolescence. We are fortunate indeed to have known such a wonderful doctor and kind man. Our deepest sympathy to his family.

Tom and family, we are so sorry for your loss and are keeping you all in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

I am so sorry for your loss of a wonderful husband and father. I have fond memories of Betty and the children, as I knew that all well as we were together through school experiences. Betty, it is a hard time being a widow and I am glad your girls are near you. Bless you all. May God give you comfort.

Karl lived his deep commitment to a world that works for everyone in myriad ways through local, national, and international activities. I am thankful to have been a friend of his.

Great memories regarding local ending hunger, a prayer group, and church service.

I have known Karl and his family for years at Fairmount Presbyterian Church, and my fondest memories of Karl were of his many petitions of participation in community awareness events. Our deepest condolences to Betty, Megan, and Gretchen. A connection I was unaware of before reading Karl's obituary was my grandmother and grandfather graduated from Tufts Medical School 44 years prior to Karl. A great man. God bless.

I was sad to hear of Karl´s death, but I was heartened to hear he was surrounded by his family. Karl was a remarkable man whose passion, faith and energy lives on in his awesome family! I enjoyed every conversation I had with Karl (even the intense ones), and I am thankful to have served as his pastor.
