Gordon Lark was my undergraduate advisor. He took me under his wing when I was a sophomore in college. I had no experience I just knew I wanted to work with plants. His lab was mapping the soybean genome at the time. He had me record various phenotypes of genetically different soybean lines. In the summer we would plant in a research garden that ironically is now the location for the research building I currently work in.
