KATE'S DEDICATION RAISING AWARENESS IN REGARD TO MENTAL ILLNESS WAS REMARKABLE. WHEN COMPASSION IS TRANSLATED TO THE AMELIORATION OF THE HANDICAP THAT MENTAL ILLNESS IS A SOURCE OF INSPIRATION. AS IT IS SAID HANDICAP SOMETIMES RESULTS IN A CREATIVE APPROACH TO LIFE. KATE WAS A LIVING EXAMPLE OF THIS. MAY. PEACE BE WITH HER THE FAMILY MEMBERS SHE LEFT BEHIND!

I am sorry to hear that you have lost Kate Cross Das. She was such a beautiful soul. She was also dedicated. As a wife. As a mother. As a loving friend. And as a person dedicated to helping reduce the stigma of persons with mental illness. She had amazing strength to move forward. Continually living with the struggles that life gave to her. I remember early NAMI days.... Attending Bridges conferences and NAMI conferences. She was very dedicated and helpful and I appreciated her optimism....

Mu deepest condolences to the family. I didn't know Mrs. Das but I went to school with Sunit. My prayers and good energies are with you all.

Deben--I am sorry to learn belatedly of your loss of Kate. It is a loss for us all. The obituary was so moving and reminded me of those earlier days of FAMI and the privilege that it was to know Kate. My sympathies to you and your son.--Sue
