SCHULTE Kate "Kathaleen Beth" Schulte, beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend, left our company on September 15 from an apparent heart attack at the age of 60. Kate was born in Wichita, KS, and settled in Columbus, OH, in 1975. Her earliest work for justice was with farmworker organizers...

Not sure what to say?

God love Kate for all of her civil rights and advocacy work. I worked with the Columbus Tenants Union too. May she Rest In Peace and May her survivors always be comforted.

I was a law clerk for Kate in the early 90s. She was a wonderful person and a tremendously talented lawyer. She had a very rare combination of unrelenting passion for justice and the practical skills to achieve results. She will continue to be an inspiration to me and others who try to follow in her footsteps.

I knew Kate not all that much, but knew that she was warm and kind. Her work as an attorney is what I remember most of Kate. She will be missed by many people, especially those who knew and loved her most. Can't make it to the memorial, can't deal with traffic in that area; others: have a warm and serene evening thinking of Kate.

I'm driving to Kansas next week and will have special thoughts of Kate as I see the plains come into view. I know you will be surrounded with love this weekend as you celebrate her wonderful life.

Always loved seeing Kate with Michael at various concerts in and around Columbus. Always on the scene, always enjoying life in earnest. My sincerest condolences.

hummin lots of love to you all, Love you! Terril

Kate was very kind to me, and was a sensitive and compassionate mentor to me as I began private practice. She did not seem to have a mean bone in her body, but clearly expressed indignation in the face of injustice. I will miss her.

Kate was a hero - an essential part of the core of progressive Columbus lawyers and activists woking and fighting for justice year after year. She will live on in the good she did and the change she made. Kate was an inspiration to two grateful generations who will never forget her.
