Katherine (Kathy) Johnson, a longtime resident of Washington, CT and a resident of Merrimack, NH for the last 2 years, died surrounded by her family after a 4-year on and off battle with leukemia on July 18, 2023. She was 75 years old.
Born in Torrington, CT on April 22, 1948 , Kathy was one of four children of the late Allen and Ethel Hollister. She grew up in Washington, CT and graduated from Washington High School in 1966.
Kathy worked in various positions in the Region 12 school system, her last position being payroll coordinator. Kathy loved golf and spoiling her grandsons. She also enjoyed watching UConn basketball – men and women's teams. Kathy loved the Christmas season - giving gifts, her holiday sweaters, baking Christmas cookies, and spending time with family. Kathy was known for her apple pies and her cheesecake. She loved cardinals and all animals. Kathy and her husband, Mike, spent much time together and loved golfing together.
Kathy's survivors include her husband of 55 years: Mike, her children Mark Johnson (and his wife Tara Johnson) of Saratoga, CA, Deb Dalessio (and her husband Dan Dalessio) of Walpole, MA, and her grandsons Drew Johnson of California City, CA and Reese Johnson of Melbourne, FL, and her sister Holly Camp of Washington, CT. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by sister Jean York and brother Richard Hollister.

Mike and family I was shocked to hear of Kathy´s passing. I can still see her smiling as you guys walked and golfed at the washington club. Have missed seeing you the last couple of years. Hope you will always have fond memories of your long time here and short time in New Hampshire. Please know that you and yours are in our thoughts and prayers.

Kathy was a wonderful woman who always greeted me with a smile and hug. . My condolences to Mark and Tara Johnson, their boys, Drew and Reese, Deb and Dan, but most of Mike who loved her with evert ounce of his being.. She will be missed by many.. Rest in Paradise Kathy, you deserve it.. .

Mike and family, I am so sorry to find out about Kathy´s passing. I have missed seeing the two of you you on the Washington Golf Course the last few years. I loved seeing how happy the two of you were playing together. Kathy was always so upbeat. A light has left this world. God bless all of you in this loss. Judie Gorra
