Dear Parents,

Please accept our deepest sympathy.

The Evansville, IN chapter of The Compassionate Friends--a mutual assistance, self-help organization offering friendship, understanding, and hope to bereaved families following the death of a child.

Dear Kathy, Karen and Frnak,
I fondly remember the first time I met Katie. We were at the UT Cancer Institute. Before I knew who she was I remember saying to Bill, "Wow, that young woman is stunning!". Then we met and I found out just how stunning she was ! Her joy, grace, light, life were remarkable - let's call it the "katie quality".

I am saddened by your loss.

I never really talked to Katie, until we had a math class together in highschool because I was a grade below her. I was really shy, and Katie just had this way about her that made you feel more comfortable about yourself. She was a very outgoing and happy person. My prayers go out to her family. She will be greatly missed.

Katie,
In the 21 years I've known you, you have made me laugh, smile and love more. We meet so many people in our lifetime, mostly ones who come and leave and we are left wondering where they are. But when you met someone, you would not settle for a meet, greet and a possible keep in touch. You made it a point to become a part of that life. And you did in mine. You shared so many experiences with those around you and left us with awesome memories. I hope you know how much you...

Our thoughts and prayers are with your family and Katie's friends. She was an extraordinary person who brought joy to so many. Her smile and enthusiasm even during difficult times were amazing. She will be missed so much.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the Kanowsky family. May you remember the good times and allow yourself to smile at all the people Katie touched. She will be missed.

I worked with Katie at Y-12. She was the sweetest person that I have ever been around. Always concerned about everyone else and wanting to help others. Katie is an angel and will be greatly missed.

Katie was one of the first I met at Y-12. She was the sweetest gal I'd ever met. She was always worrying about others while coping with her disease. She was a trooper. I will miss her so much. I am thankful that all of the pain she endured in her final months has gone away. My deepest sympathy for her loved ones in their time of grief. She was truly a remarkable person. I will remember her always.

I went to high school with Katie and knew her well through those years. When I think of her, she just brings a smile to my face. I knew her just a short time but she impacted my life for lifetime. Her time here was too short, but will NEVER be forgotten. Her memory will last forever! Prayers to the family, she will be greatly missed!
