Not sure what to say?

The news of Katie's passing has only recently been shared here at NCSU. I had the pleasure of working with Katie as her advisor. I always admired her positivity and refusal to be daunted in the face of challenges. Her energy and enthusiasm were motivating. As others have noted here, she was a good friend to her fellow students. Her contributions were obvious to us all. My best to all her loved and cared for her.

My heart aches at Katie's passing-- I had the absolute privilege of working alongside her at Energy Foundation, and was fortunate enough to learn from and partner with her during my onboarding and first 6 months with EF. I could say so much, but plainly, it was a true gift to share space with Katie's brilliance, humor, wit, and fierceness. I carry much of what I learned from her in my work still each day, and will carry her memory with me forever. Rest well KK

I'm so sorry to hear about the passing of Katie. She was a ray of sunshine - warm with an incredible sense of humor. She could make me laugh in even the most mundane of situations. She talked often of her sisters and her dog, Juno. Sending you all a big hug.
