My Aunt Kate

One of my fondest memories of Kate was one summer down at The Cape back in the 1960‘s. She and I took the sunfish that my dad and I built, for a sail down at Dennis. It was low tide so we had to haul the boat for what seemed like a mile over the sand to get out to the water before we could actually sail. At one point we capsized (not uncommon on a sunfish). I've been thinking about Aunt Kate for weeks now - ever since hearing that she was under hospice care. Such a very special lady, she will be missed.

When I met and fell in love with her nephew, David, and married him in 1967, I can remember Kate simply welcoming me with open arms. Over the years, no matter where we lived, whenever we got back to East Longmeadow our visits would include time with the Lowe family! A meal at Christmas, sledding down the hill on Pease Road or watching kids...

To my friend Dwight: your mom will be missed by all who knew her. Thanks to her for keeping us knuckleheads out of trouble while attending high school. I remember hangoing out at your house with Denis, Mike Ritchie, Logan, Butler, and a few others! even after I got out of the Army. She was a pleasure to be around, always had a great smile, and many words of wisdom on how to live Life. I was glad I went to see her and your dad two years ago while they were in Florida.
