Katherine Petree Obituary
Work history in the scheme of life is just a means of making a living, but to her character know she never missed a day of work and won several awards for being a stickler for quality.
She was a sassy Jersey gal who was quick witted and always up for a good adventure. She was an avid reader and had a green thumb that could easily nurture a twig into a plant. She was fiercely independent and worked hard throughout her life allowing her to battle through many life challenges. She was very proud of her daughters and the lives they had built from humble beginnings. She loved to share stories with others about her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was very brave until the bitter end and left this earth with dignity and grace surrounded by her loved ones.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Billie Petree; her two brothers, Paul Blodis and Peter Blodis; and her grandson, Garrison Smith.
She is survived by her daughters Linda Moore (Kevin), Nabb, IN, Cinda Smith (Brent ), Kill Devil Hills, NC; grandchildren, Kaela Shepherd (Alex), Nabb, IN, and her children, Rilynn, Colton, and Dakota Moore, Nabb, IN, and Zach Moore (Reagan), Marysville,IN, and their sweet baby girl she dreamed of meeting in February; and Gabrielle Koonce (Caleb),Virginia.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Lorie Henney for her kindness and driving "Miss Daisy" so that she could run the roads like she loved to do.
There will be a graveside service at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, October 10, 2025, at Garland Brook Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest.
In lieu of flowers or gifts to the family, please consider making a donation to The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Southern Indiana.
