Kathy was a good friend in junior high school in Miami, Florida. We experienced school integration together during that season of our lives. We lost touch in high school but I remember with great fondness the great times we shared together, like walking to school together and stopping at Royal Castle to eat. Kathy liked to eat her FF with mustard. That was new to me. I pray for Kathy's husband, daughters, grandchildren and everyone else who got to enjoy her and spend their lives with...

Kathy (Stern) Scott married into the Scott family in 1982, 42 years ago. The Scott family, with seven siblings and a nurturing mother and father, adhered to a strong message of love and being there for each of us. This was the core of our family values. When someone married into the family, they became full-fledged family members. Though warm and welcoming, people with different life experiences and values must have felt a certain apprehension as they navigated the minefield of love and chaos...

I had the pleasure of working with Kathy at the County. I will always remember her kindness, her calm demeanor and her beautiful smile. I feel blessed to have had our paths cross. She spoke of you, her husband and children, often and with love. So sorry for your loss.
