I was so sad to stumble across Katherine´s obituary whilst searching online for an update about Lewis Lane. Back in 2016 my husband & I came to New York from the UK for short trip. By chance we attended one of her shows in Manhattan, and were so taken with her beautiful music and incredible voice. Hello, Smith family. I only knew your daughter through Instagram, and only discovered her this year. But Katie left such a mark on my heart with her smile, her courage, and her honesty. I am so very sorry for your loss. She was obviously a very bright light, and I know she will shine on you forever.

We are saddened by her death and we only wish we could have met her this is uncle Eugene and only met Gary several times as we moved to Illinois in 1964 for work!
