Katherine Sandra Storms

Katherine Sandra Storms, lovingly known as “Sandy”, as was her preference, sadly passed away on July 29, 2020. Sandy lost her battle, and she fought hard, with pancreatic cancer. She had previously won her fight with breast cancer in the past so this loss was devastating.

Sandy was loved by and left behind her parents, siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins, sister in law, two nieces, a nephew, two grand nieces and a grand nephew just born in March and many friends.

Sandy was born and raised in Denver, Colorado and graduated from Ranum High School and began her career as a telecommunications engineer and worked at AT&T for over 30 years.

Sandy’s greatest loves were her partner, Paul, who passed away 24 years ago and her four chows that also preceded her over the rainbow bridge, Leah, Marco, Wavy and most recently, Jett. Second to those deeper loves was her passion for the ocean and the Beatles.

Sandy supported her partner’s career as a drummer going to his gigs, helping with song lists and dancing on the floor. Sandy and Paul backpacked in Tuolumne Meadows of Yosemite park every year and left behind hundreds of love notes they wrote to each other. In later years she treasured her walks on the beach with her chows and these moments gave her the most pleasure.

Sandy was precious to her family and her loss is immense. We hope Sandy is light and happy again with Paul, Leah, Marco, Wavy and Jett.
