I was so surprised to hear of Kay's death in a fire in her home. Kay hired me in 1972 right after I graduated from high school to work at Temple Shalom part time for clerical work. I worked at Shalom through my early college years to put myself through nursing school at UWM. Having been raised Catholic and not exposed much to other religions, Kay was open, kind, inclusive, and taught me much about the Jewish faith.
