I was a Zone Manager, now they are called District Managers, when I first met Kathie. We opened store N-851 and that was without a doubt the easiest store I ever had to open. Kathie trained a great team and the store was a huge success, All the employees admired and respected Kathie because of her knowledge and care for her employees. I was very sad to hear of her passsing and my prayers and condolences go out to her and her family. What a great person!!

I worked for Kathie as a Special Duty Officer at her store on the West side and got to know her real well as she was an absolutely wonderful/beautiful Lady and I know that myself and all the other officers would do anything for her. I always made sure I walked her out to her car and carry her groceries as it was her personality that made you want to be around her. May God take you into His Heavenly Kingdom and reward you for being a Great Person to All..maybe you'll be able to take care of...

So sorry to hear about Kathie, Kathie was in her yard working one day and I admired her yard , so I stopped and we talked, she invited me back and showed me her green house and we talked about her plants, and how to take care of banana trees. We also talked about our dogs. I looked forward each summer just to see her yard and I always honk my horn when I would go by, even if she was not out, to let her know I was thinking of her... so very sad such a wonderful person. I'm glad I...

Very Heavy heart right now. I shared a story yesterday with new hires about how Kathie encouraged me to come back to Kroger after college and try management. 11 years later I am still here, lots of lessons I learned from Kathie, most importantly how to treat your associates. God bless Miss. Kathie and the Long family. She will be missed.

Kathie, Ernie Norris and I opened Kroger store 851 back in 1995 together. We had a great team and enjoyed success at that store. Kathie enjoyed life and cared about her associates and friends. I was very sad to hear that she had passed and offer my condolences to her family.

I'll always remember Kathie's kindness and fairness as my first store manager at Kroger's when I began. We continued our friendship long after that. I'll never forget driving up to Sawmill Creek for an outing and stopping by a nursery on the way back home, only to fill her truck up with all we could. May you rest in peace beautiful lady!! I'll never forget you.....
