Kathleen Marie Cadden, 66, passed suddenly of natural causes on Thursday (February 5, 2015) at St. Luke’s Home in Springfield, MA. Born August 30, 1948 in Meriden, CT, she was predeceased by her parents, Patrick J. and Mary (Allen) Cadden, and her two brothers, Thomas P. and Kevin J. Cadden. Kathy is survived by her sisters Judy, Patricia and Sheila Cadden, her sister Marybeth and her husband Chris Wyrtzen, several nieces and nephews (Brett Crowley and wife Jill, Jeffrey Wyrtzen and wife Kate, Thomas Cadden and wife Sarah, Maggie Crowley, Ryan Wyrtzen, Brady Wyrtzen, Taylor Cadden, Megan Wyrtzen, Patrick Cadden and Casey Cadden), great nieces Kayla and Teagen Cadden and great nephew John Patrick Wyrtzen. Working in pediatrics at Hartford Hospital upon graduating from St. Joseph School of Nursing in Nashua, NH, Kathy also completed a Bachelor’s degree later in life at Quinnipiac University, where, as she reminded all those within earshot, she earned an “A” in Biology. Kathy was guided by her love for family and friends, compassion for those in need and an endless zest for life. She had the ability to find delight in all things, including butterflies, her beloved dog, Annie, family vacations to Ireland, the colors purple and pink and anything chocolate. Kathy treasured every day, sharing her abundant joy and sharp sense of humor with all those around her, especially her sister, roommate and best friend, Judy. All those who were blessed to know her benefitted from her shining example of strength in the face of hardship, ever-present optimism and spot-on impression of Jimmy Durante. Friends and family are invited to celebrate Kathy’s life on Sunday, February 8, from 12-2 PM, followed by a funeral service at Corridan Funeral Home in Chicopee, MA. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Dakin Humane Society, P.O. Box 6307, Springfield, MA 01101.
Please accept my deepest sympathy for the lost of your Sister.
May the God of all comfort comfort each of you.

My Thoughts and Prayers are with the entire Cadden Family. Spruce Street was a wonderful place to grow up and the biggest reason was that the Cadden Family lived there. Kathy was a joy to know and memories of her will easily fill us with laughter for the rest of our lives.
