Sister Kathleen "Katie" Hearn SNJM

I knew Sr. Kathleen since I was a high school junior at St. Mary's in Medford. She and I co-taught 2nd grade CCD classes. This was the beginning of a lifetime friendship. When she was taking classes in TX she would stay with me for several days as I lived in Austin. When I finally moved back to Oregon my husband and I spent several days with her in Portland catching up. I shall miss her with all my heart. She was a wonderful, warm and caring friend.

Sister Kathleen was my first grade teacher at Sacred Heart Elementary. I had such fond memories of her as a young, caring, and enthusiastic teacher that I later corresponded with her after she had retired. She was the same genuine person in her letters. I have been blessed with her love and care. May God comfort her family and friends.

Sister Katie was the Class of `58´ from St. Mary´s spiritual advisor and wonderful friend. She loved what she did and we loved her for all of her goodness and kindness. She loved a good laugh and would often join us for a lunch get together. To have her at our reunions was special. We will miss her so much. Our prayers of thanksgiving for having her in our lives. Sister Kathleen was my daughter´s kindergarten teacher. She was a lovely lady who made my daughter´s first experience in catholic education a positive one. Rise in glory Sister Kathleen.
