Kathleen Smith Malinowski, of Rocky Hill, CT, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at the Hospital of Central Connecticut, losing her battle with cancer.
Kathy was born in Manchester, CT, to late Kenneth A. and Stella Ivaniski Smith. She graduated from East Catholic High School and the Connecticut Institute of Hairdressing.
She was predeceased by her brother, Mark Smith; her stepson, John Gramegna; and her nephew, Joshua Ray.
Kathy is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Andrew Malinowski; her daughter and son-in-law, Janine and Christopher Pavelec; and her three grandchildren, Austin, Aaron, and Haley, whom she loved dearly.
She also leaves behind her sisters, Carol and her husband John Zarbock of Texas, and Janice Ray of Manchester; her brothers, Bruce and his wife Kelley Smith of Maryland, and John Smith of Manchester; as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
A service will be held on Monday, September 22, 2025, at 11a.m. in the Brooklawn Funeral Home, 511 Brook Street, Rocky Hill. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery, 580 Elm Street, Rocky Hill. Family and friends are inited to the Funeral Home on Monday from 9:30-10:30a.m.
