McCoy, Kathleen Joan (nee Stepanek), a loving mother, sister, and friend passed away unexpectedly on Friday, November 13, 2020 at the age of 61 in her home.
Kathy is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Shannon and Nicole, Jamie, and Ryan; her siblings, Sue Stepanek, Jan Breheny, Dave Stepanek, John Stepanek, Bob Stepanek, and Julie Stepanek; many nieces and nephews, and her feline roommates, Maya and Percy. She is predeceased by her mother, Eloise Joan Stepanek and father, Walter Franklin Stepanek.
“Momma McCoy”, as she was affectionately known, was a selfless and devoted mother to her three boys. Often working two jobs to provide the best life for them no matter the effort or cost to her own well-being, they were the most important thing in her life. She enjoyed creative outlets such as adult coloring books and painting, tending to her plants both indoor and outdoor, playing Scrabble, Wheel of Fortune, and her cats. One of her favorite places to visit was Lone Elk Park to see the buffalo as she loved all animals (except the deer that ate her flowers).
She will be deeply missed.
Services: Visitation at the FAMILY CENTER at SCHRADER Funeral Home and Crematory, 14960 Manchester Road at Holloway, Ballwin, Thursday, November 19, from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Interment private. If desired, contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Missouri. Friends may sign the family’s on-line guestbook at Schrader.com.

She shared her positive energy & zest for the simple joys of life with everyone. Her smiles & laughter were wonderful & welcoming. Her loving spirit is forever with us.

Shannon, Jamie and Ryan I'm praying for the healing of your broken hearts. Grief will be like the ocean's tides, coming and going. Helen Keller once said: What we once enjoyed and deeply loved we can never lose, for all that we love deeply becomes part of us. And Edna St. Vincent Millay wrote: The presence of that absence is everywhere.
I love you all, , .

Dear Shannon and Jamie, and Ryan, Your mother reminded me so much of my mother. My mother raised four boys by herself and Kathy raised you three. I know from experience how difficult young boys can be! Kathy is to be commended! She raised three successful, intelligent and wonderful young men. I know you will forever be proud of her accomplishments and you will miss her dearly. May God hold you and comfort you during these very difficult days!

Kathleen was a co-worker and a friend at work. She was beautiful person to be around. She was always smiling and always talked about her boys. I loved her "big heels" and her red nails. I will miss seeing her smiling face. May you all be lifted in knowing what a wonderful sweet person she was.
