Not sure what to say?

We will never forget all the good times and great memories with Sr. Kathleen. Sister was a proud runner on the Niles West Oakton Runners Club. She was leader and a very kind mentor to many athletes on the club. May she rest in peace.

Every time I visit Ireland I remember you going to the Sisters of Mercy lub ent in your Niles West / Oakton Runners Club running tanktop and shorts. The Irish nuns were so surprised to meet the "Running Nun"!

Every time I remember a race from the Chicago Area Runners Race Circuit, I think of Sr. Kathleen and what an inspiration she was to all of us. Being with us on one of our many running tours to Ireland, Sister would knock on the door of every convent in every town we visited. Whoever answered the door was always surprised to learn that the person in their running gear standing at the door was a Sister of Mercy. May she rest in peace.

What an amazing woman!

I will always cherish the memory of the glint in Sr. McDonoughs eye...the first time wewe met. She visited my late husbands office (Dr. Steve Beekil) for new orthotics....came bouncing in with runners tights on and a water bottle in her hand...laughing..."not what you expected..huh" were her words.....I adored her from that moment on. The greatest compliment was paid to me by her....upon registering for a LaSalle Marathon, she handed me her gym bag...and asked me to keep it for...

My deepest condolences go out to the family and friends of Sister Kathleen. She was an inspiration to many runners. I have often said that my goal is to be just like Sister Kathleen -- to be able to run consistently well into her 80's. Thank you to Sister Kathleen for being a good friend, a motivated runner and a devoted & loyal servant of God through your ministry work with the Sisters of Mercy. God bless all touched by this lovely woman.

I Know Sister Kathleen McDonough will be truly missed, but the memories of her will live on. She will not be forgotten. My thoughts and prayers go out to all those who had come to know and love Sister Kathleen.

Please accept my deepest condolences on the loss of your loved one. And may you find peace knowing that the Almighty God will continue with you to comfort and sustain you through this difficult time.

We were very saddened to learn that our good friend and runner Sr. Kathleen had passed away. She was an inspiration to all of us as a good Catholic, a wonderful nun, and a motivated athlete. Sr. Kathleen ran on the Niles West/Oakton Runners Club for many years and was one of our top "point getters" on the CARA Circuit. Sr. led the team to many championships. Sr. Kathleen went to Ireland with our club and visited every Sister of Mercy Convent in every town that we visited. We will miss...
