Connor-Healy Funeral Home - Manchester Obituary

Kathleen Bovaird McGhee, 45, of Manchester, NH, died August 15, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.

Beloved daughter of Mary and the late James McGhee. Dear sister of Jamie and his wife Kirsten, Fiona and her husband Chris Mickelson and aunt of James, Noah, Nate, Owen, Rory, and Matthew. Kathleen will be missed and grieved by her extended family in England, Scotland, Ireland, New York and Colorado.

Kathleen attended West Side Catholic Regional Elementary School, The Derryfield School and was a proud graduate of St. Anselm College, Class of 2000. Kathleen enjoyed traveling and was always up for a trip abroad whether to Scotland, England, France or Italy- as long as it included a stopover at the Blue Lagoon in Iceland. As a lifelong lover of international cuisine and indie music, Kathleen found connections across cultures.

Kathleen was the ultimate city woman; she lived and worked in San Francisco, Boston and New York. Throughout her career as an event planner, she met people of all backgrounds and had an innate ability to make anyone feel at home. Over the years, Kathleen planned and assisted with a number of charitable events. Kathleen possessed a certain sparkle that was hard to resist.

Kathleen's death was the result of complications from alcohol use disorder. She died at Catholic Medical Center, where under the compassionate and loving support of the nurses, the Palliative Care Unit and Dr. Alicia Hilburn, she was graced with a peaceful death. As a family, we are deeply grateful for the care Kathleen received.

Services: Kathleen will be buried at St. Joseph Cemetery, Bedford, NH, with her father. A liturgy and Celebration of her Life will take place in the coming months.

In loving memory of Kathleen, donations may be made to Catholic Medical Center, Philanthropy Office, 100 McGregor Street, Manchester, NH 03102 or www.catholicmedicalcenter.org/ donate.

The Connor-Healy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 537 Union Street, Manchester, NH is assisting the family.

To the McGhee family, I am so sorry to hear of Kathleen's passing. She and your family wi always hold a special place in my heart. There is not a memory of College Ave without Kathleen in it. I will remember her fondly forever. Kathleen, I hope you are having some wonderful conversations with dad

Kathleen brought a breath of fresh air and sunshine to this world. I can still see her joyfulness, her laugh and her smile. I loved seeing her when Tina and I visited Manchester; I enjoyed her cosmopolitan, cultured and open-to-everyone outlook. Over many years I also valued her spiritual wisdom and perspective. I remember having lunch with her in Boston some years ago; Kathleen was, as usual, warm-hearted, loving and her beautiful soul radiated outwards. May it continue to glow in our...
